PASTOR LEE & SANDY MCFARLAND
Pastor Lee, former Microsoft Director of World-Wide Operations, left the corporate world in 1996, relocating to Surprise, Arizona, where he started Radiant Church, a church that grew from a group of 20 in his living room to a congregation of over 6,200, the 86th largest in the country (Outreach Magazine 2011).
Pastor McFarland also founded an Arizona charter school in 1998, Paradise Education Center which continues to serve over 1,600 children. McFarland has a BSEE from University of Colorado with post-graduate studies at Global University in Springfield, Missouri.
Pastor Lee resigned from Radiant in 2011 after confessing to moral failure. He confessed, resigned, repented, and submitted to a 2-year restoration under Pastor Tommy Barnett and Rev. Stephen Harris, Superintendent of the Arizona Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God. Rev. Harris described Lee as "a model restoration candidate". He was reinstated as an Ordained Minister in September 2013.
On February 15, 2015, Luminate Church (formerly Covina AG) elected Pastor Lee and Sandy to lead the church. They accepted the call with great expectations for what God will do, and with great humility for the trust placed in them despite failures of the past. Pastor Lee’s story of restoration and coming back from a devastating failure continues to inspire many with a positive message of forgiveness, hope and grace.
